PROJECT 17
Mill Farm, Tibshelf
11.02.19 - 15.02.19
DSWA Placement with Ox Stone Walling
For the first of my 2 short term placements, I had to go to Mill Farm Housing Development, Tibshelf in Derbyshire. The brief required a A 2.9m long by 600cm high dry stone wall built using newly quarried bedded sandstone.
Tutored, challenged and encouraged by John Broadhead of Ox Stone Craft
Setting out, using lines, pins and wooden batter frames. Selecting, cutting and dressing stone.
Using a datum reference point and correct use of lines for batter, and much more learning & practice. Mill Farm was a good introduction to working with newly quarried stone.
