Conservation Lime Mortar Boundary Wall

This was a conservation lime mortar project, with a brief to completely rebuild a 10 metre by 3 metre section of mortared stone wall.

The collapse of original wall seemed very established with a lot of stone now buried. As a result, much of the stone used had to be dug out of the ground.

Any rebuild was to be sympathetic to the original built, which was still evident in some sheltered sections of the boundary wall, as well as to the Grade II listed status of Allsprings House.

In order to achieve this, both the coursing style and use of Natural Hydraulic Lime would have to be key considerations for this conservation project.
