PROJECT 15

Calverley, Leeds

29.11.18 - 21.12.18
DSWA Placement with Axis Walling

The Calverley project was interesting from the start. To begin with, it was a mixed dry stone walling and lime mortared wall. This was true for the back and front wall faces respectively.

Before it was stripped, the wall stood with a serious of ready to collapse waves. Roots from the now removed leylandii had caused the weakening and bulging of the wall.

Multiple risk assessment and site maintenance aspects to consider as site very close major school run drop and pick up point. Importance of consistent lime mortar mix proved to be the biggest lesson on this project.
